A system blowing room-temperature air, tripping its breaker, or icing over on the coil isn't a minor annoyance in Destrehan, LA heat — it's a same-day problem. We check refrigerant charge, compressor amp draw, and coil condition before quoting a fix.
One of the most common ways people get overcharged on Ac Repair is a technician who tops off refrigerant without ever finding where it's escaping. We pull static and running pressures, check superheat and subcooling against manufacturer spec, and use electronic leak detection to find the real fault — a slow leak repaired properly outlasts three top-offs.
The standards every AC call from us follows.
All refrigerant work is performed by EPA 608-certified technicians, which is a legal requirement we take seriously, not just paperwork.
We prioritize no-cool calls, and most Destrehan requests get a same-day slot even in the busiest stretch of summer.
You approve a fixed price before repairs begin, whether it's a capacitor or a compressor.
Our trucks carry electronic leak detectors and UV dye so the leak gets found, not just temporarily papered over.
Six repairs that cover the vast majority of cooling failures we see.
We locate the leak with electronic sensors or UV dye, repair the line or fitting, then recharge to factory spec and verify with pressure readings — not just refilled and sent on its way.
High amp draw, hard-starting, or a compressor that hums but won't kick on all point to different failures — we test windings and start components before condemning the unit before we ever recommend replacement.
Ice on the coil is a symptom, not the problem — we trace it back to airflow restriction or low charge and fix what's actually causing it.
Dual-run capacitor failure is a leading cause of a condenser that won't kick on, and it's a same-visit fix once confirmed with a microfarad reading.
Debris-caked condenser coils can't shed heat efficiently, which spikes head pressure and stresses the compressor — we clean and inspect fins during the visit.
Blown fuses, tripped disconnects, and miscalibrated thermostats can present exactly like a dead compressor — ruling these out first can save a needless compressor replacement.
What to expect once you dial in.
Describe the symptom — warm air, ice on the lines, breaker tripping — and we schedule the nearest tech.
Truck arrives stocked with refrigerant, gauges, and common replacement parts, ready to diagnose on the spot.
Pressure readings and amp draws get measured before any refrigerant is added — then you get a flat-rate quote to approve.
Same-visit completion in most cases, covered under warranty once you sign off.
Recent feedback from actual AC service calls.
AC was blowing warm during a heat wave and they had someone out same day. Tracked down a refrigerant leak at the schrader valve, fixed it right, cold air within the hour.
— K. Munoz, homeowner
Previous company just added freon twice and charged me both times. This tech actually found the leak with dye and fixed the fitting.
— D. Harmon, homeowner
Compressor was humming and not starting. Turned out the capacitor, fifteen-minute fix once diagnosed, fair flat price.
— P. Nakamura, small business owner
Coil was frozen solid, tech explained it was an airflow issue from a dirty filter combined with low charge, fixed both.
— S. Ferraro, homeowner
What people ask before we dispatch.
Usually low refrigerant from a leak, a failed compressor, or a dirty condenser coil — we test all three before quoting.
Topping off without finding the leak point is possible, but it's a short-term patch and we're upfront about that.
Cooling failures get priority routing, and most same-day requests are seen within a few hours.
It won't hurt anyone, but continuing to run the unit while iced up risks compressor damage, so it's worth addressing quickly.
Our Ac Repair focus is central split-systems and packaged units, though we can advise on window units too, and can point you in the right direction for window units.
Full pressure testing, electrical checks, and a written explanation of the fault, credited toward the repair.
Our AC repair coverage spans Destrehan and the nearby zips shown here — call to confirm a same-day slot.
